Trellia Hosts Mobile Broadband for the Enterprise Summit
Event Will Feature Wireless Workforce Strategies from Leading Wireless Analyst Craig Mathias and Soberman LLP
Montreal, Canada: October 28, 2008 – Trellia Networks (www.trellia.com), a provider of seamless mobility software, today announced it will host a strategy summit for enterprises deploying mobile broadband to their workforce. The event will feature prominent wireless analyst Craig Mathias of Farpoint Group and Soberman LLP, who recently deployed Bell 3G data cards to their mobile executives. It will be held at the in the Pavillion room at the Delta Meadowvale Hotel & Resort in Mississauga, Ontario on October 30 2008, for more information visit www.trellia.com/mbe.
Enterprise mobility continues to grow dramatically, driven by competitive pressures to improve productivity and responsiveness. The accelerating adoption is being fueled by the explosion in public Wi-Fi and more recently mobile broadband access in the form of 3G. To be successful, enterprise mobility initiatives must deliver gains in end user productivity. But they must also be resource efficient, cost effective, secure. This half day summit will present strategies and solutions for making enterprise mobility a success through best practices presented by Craig Mathias, technology insights from Trellia and a full case study from Soberman LLP.
“In a world where the ability to obtain and act on information is the only good competitive advantage left, mobility should be a centerpiece of any organization’s strategy”, says Craig Mathias. “The key to success in these initiatives is effective network, device, and user management that reduces complexity and enforces corporate policies.”
As a leading chartered accounting firm, Soberman relies heavily on mobile capabilities to improve its ability to service customers and increase productivity, which it measures in billable hours. The firm also views mobility as a way to improve the work life balance of its staff. Despite these benefits, the organization was wary to allow Wi-Fi use and to adopt 3G because data security and usability were potential issues. In a case study session moderated by Craig Mathias, Soberman’s COO, Susan Hodkinson and Senior Network Engineer, Robin Persaud will present how they overcame these challenges.
“In many enterprises mobility has grown organically over the last few years, resulting in the deployment of various pieces of the mobility puzzle under pressure from business units demanding laptops, WiFi and 3G. But many organizations are struggling to rationalize these initiatives in the face of spiraling security risks, access costs and support complexity”, says Trellia’s CEO Giovanni Forte. “This summit is aimed at providing IT leaders with a new framework through which to address these issues”.
